Learn More about WGU Missouri
Unlike schools that charge tuition based on credit hours, WGU Missouri focuses on the time needed to complete your entire degree rather than each course individually. WGU Missouri’s six-month terms are billed at a flat-rate tuition fee
Most WGU Missouri degree programs allow new students to begin their term on the first day of each month. Unlike traditional semesters, WGU Missouri terms are six months long and based on your program start date.
Note: WGU Missouri does not profit from application fees; rather, they help support our costs related to processing, transcript collection, etc. WGU Missouri charges a $145 Resource Fee each term. This fee helps cover your use of the online library, e-textbooks, and many other learning resources. With few exceptions, required textbooks are available as e-textbooks, so you won’t have to purchase hard copy textbooks.
(applies to select programs)
Consolidated Nursing Program Fee: $350 (one time)
Individuals pursuing a nursing degree will be assessed a one-time charge per degree (billed separately along with the first term's tuition). This one-time fee covers any and all additional expenses related to nursing coursework. These can include lab work, third-party exams, and selected learning resources.
Demonstration Teaching (student teaching) standard fee: $1,000
Individuals enrolled in a Teachers College program that includes student teaching must pay a $100 application fee per cohort, plus a $900 demonstration teaching cohort fee prior to their in-classroom teaching practicum.
Science Lab Fee: $350 (one time)
Billed to students earning a B.S. or science graduate degree in addition to first term tuition costs.
Educational Leadership Practicum Fee: $1,000 (one time)
Individuals in the Educational Leadership Endorsement Preparation program or the master of science program will be assessed this fee upon enrollment in the practicum course(s).
Note: As degree programs are updated, additional fees may apply. WGU Missouri will notify students of these changes as soon as possible.
WGU Missouri treats all students as "full-time" and charges tuition at a flat rate regardless of the number of competency units (credit equivalents) attempted or completed by the student in a six-month term. The "standard term" is based on completion of at least 12 competency units per term for undergraduate (bachelor’s) students and 8 competency units per term for graduate (master’s) students. Students who complete more or fewer units are charged the same tuition rates (see above).
Note: Tuition does not cover some selected other materials or special fees required for some courses and degree programs.
The majority of WGU students are independent adults supporting themselves and their families, and federal financial aid makes it possible for them to complete their degrees. There are different types of financial aid for which you may be eligible.
Through the generosity of numerous corporations and foundations, WGU offers a number of scholarships that are available to qualified students.
For students who plan to pay for tuition without government assistance, payments or payment arrangements must be completed on or before:
Many corporations and organizations offer tuition assistance or tuition reimbursement.
WGU's degree programs are approved for Tuition Assistance for active-duty, reserve, and National Guard service members.
WGU's degree programs are approved for Veterans Administration (VA) education benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill®.

Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) are also accepted, but a 2.75% credit card fee applies. Students may make payments through the “Make or View Payments” link in the online student portal. WGU does not accept post-dated checks. WGU will not hold any check for deposit past the date of the receipt of the check. WGU will not be responsible for any bank fees associated with the deposit of said check.
All institutions participating in federal financial student aid programs are required to notify enrolled and prospective students and current and prospective employees regarding available consumer information. This document provides access to required consumer information.

"WGU Missouri is designed to meet the needs of real people with real lives. How quickly you earn your degree depends on how quickly you master the subject matter, because you advance at your own pace. Instead of paying tuition by the credit hour, students can take as much coursework as they want for a flat rate. This is the flexibility and the affordability that many working Missourians need to finish a degree to help themselves, their family and their community."
